Sonos Five — Black, Single

The Sonos Five is a mains-powered home speaker finished in matte black, designed for network music listening and playback from a suitable wired source. Six Class-D amplifiers drive three tweeters and three midwoofers within a sealed enclosure. A single Five placed horizontally provides stereo playback, while vertical orientation changes its playback behaviour; two compatible Fives can also form a dedicated stereo pair. This listing is for one speaker, not a pair. Wi-Fi and Apple AirPlay 2 support music streaming, while an Ethernet port offers a wired connection to the home network. The built-in 3.5 mm line input accepts a suitable analogue source using a separately purchased auxiliary cable. A turntable needs an appropriate phono stage before connection; the input is not itself a phono preamplifier. Trueplay room tuning requires a supported iOS device, and the Sonos app provides bass, treble and loudness adjustment. Five has no battery-powered mode or Bluetooth audio streaming, and should not be described as a Dolby Atmos speaker. It needs mains power, internet access and compatible app setup.
