Allen & Heath ZED-12FX 12-Channel USB Mixer with Effects

The Allen & Heath ZED-12FX is a 12-channel analogue mixer with six microphone/line channels, three stereo channels and built-in effects. The six mic/line channels use DuoPre preamps and three-band equalisation with a sweepable mid-frequency control. Its 12-channel description is a total mixing-channel count, not twelve microphone preamps. Three auxiliary buses and a dedicated internal effects bus support monitoring and processing, while the onboard processor supplies 16 effects. Balanced XLR main outputs with insert points provide connections for the main sound system and external processing. The USB audio interface carries a stereo signal in each direction, giving two inputs and two outputs rather than separate multitrack capture of all mixer inputs. The official user guide specifies a 16-bit USB codec with 32, 44.1 or 48kHz sample rates; this should not be confused with the separate 24-bit/48kHz conversion used by the internal effects processor.
