TEAC AD-850-SE CD Player & Cassette Deck — Black

The TEAC AD-850-SE combines a CD player, cassette recorder and USB flash-drive playback and recording in a single black component. Its cassette mechanism uses two heads and runs in one direction, so it is not an auto-reverse deck. Normal and chrome tapes are supported, while metal tapes are for playback only. Audio from a CD, cassette, external line source or microphone input can be recorded to a USB flash drive as an MP3 file at 128 kbps; this is not lossless CD archiving. Microphone audio cannot be mixed into CD-to-USB recordings. The unit can also record suitable sources to cassette and offers playback pitch adjustment of approximately plus or minus ten per cent. A front-panel quarter-inch mono microphone input has an echo function for karaoke or voice mixing, but a microphone is not built in or included and the input does not supply microphone power. Stereo RCA connections allow the deck to be connected to an external amplifier or recording source. The supplied remote operates playback functions. Separate speakers and amplification are required.
