Audiolab 7000CDT (Black)

The Audiolab 7000CDT is a black CD transport with an additional facility for playing supported music files from USB storage. It sends digital audio to an external DAC or a suitably equipped amplifier rather than converting it to analogue within the player. Both coaxial and optical outputs are provided, making the connection requirements straightforward to assess before purchase. Its tray-loading mechanism uses a read-ahead buffer intended to reduce reading interruptions on imperfect discs, although no transport can guarantee recovery of every damaged recording. The mechanism sits in a shielded enclosure with a dedicated power supply, while the chassis and base address mechanical vibration. A 2.8-inch colour IPS display presents information such as folders, formats and track details. The rear USB-A connection is for compatible storage containing MP3, WMA, AAC or WAV files; it is not a USB audio input for a computer. Partner it with a DAC and amplification to complete the signal path to passive loudspeakers.
