Cambridge Audio Alva ST Grey

The Cambridge Audio Alva ST is a belt-drive turntable with both wired analogue connections and Bluetooth audio transmission. It is a distinct model from the direct-drive Alva TT range, with a belt-driven platter instead. A moving-magnet cartridge is supplied on a removable headshell, providing a practical starting point for playback and allowing cartridge changes in the future. The built-in phono stage can be used to feed a suitable line-level input, or bypassed when connecting to an appropriate external phono stage. Bluetooth supports SBC, aptX and aptX HD, with the actual connection depending on the receiving equipment. The turntable plays records at 33⅓ and 45rpm and uses a die-cast aluminium platter with a rubber mat. Operation should be treated as manual rather than advertised as automatic end-of-side stopping or lifting. The grey finish contrasts with the dark platter and matches the manufacturer’s colour designation. The supplied dustcover and included cartridge make the package clear without importing a different regional cartridge bundle.
