Technics SL-1500C (Black)

The Technics SL-1500C is a direct-drive turntable that combines manual record handling with a useful automatic tonearm lift. This black model uses a coreless motor and offers electronic selection of 33⅓, 45 and 78rpm. The supplied Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge and built-in phono equaliser make it possible to connect to an appropriate line-level amplifier input without buying a separate phono stage. Alternatively, the dedicated phono connection supports a suitable external phono stage. At the end of a record, the enabled auto lift-up function raises the tonearm to prevent repeated playing of the run-out groove. It does not stop the platter, return the arm to its rest or make the turntable fully automatic. The user remains responsible for positioning the arm and finishing the playback sequence. Although 78rpm rotation is available, the supplied standard microgroove stylus should not be presented as suitable for every historic shellac record; a compatible specialist stylus or cartridge may be required.
